Thanks for your suggestion concerning the chain movement against the opener/motor. I manually tighten the chain about 1/2" to 3/4" and now the door works perfectly again (my fingers are still
crossed!). This is an example of how one good small tip saved a $350+ replacement of an almost new garage opener. Thanks again to all the professionals and handymen who take the time to help others here!
