I would roller it myself... methinks it takes too long to brush. Sounds like the panelling is dark. May take 2 coats.
I am well known (recently) for, as they say, "going with the flow". Instead of painting, try floor lamps or other lighting. Will save you alot of work and also make the bulb industry happy.
