Cedar Post in Concrete

I would not put Cedar Posts in concrete. Contrary to popular belief, Cedar does rot when either constantly wet or in contact with biologicals. Also, concrete is very basic (high pH) and I would expect damage to Cedar, especially at the concrete/Cedar/air interface.

I use treated lumber at grade or below. I would use a good water proofing agent on the treated wood before putting them in the hole and shoveling in the concrete.
