I can't tell you for Brooklyn but there are poster and print stores at several local shopping malls that have what you need. Home centers and industrial plastics distributors stock or can get acryllic or polycarbonate sheet plastic up to at least 48" x 120" but just having the plastic will not do what you need. You have to provide a way to keep the poster flat and a way to support it for hanging. Other sources to consider would be screen door and storm window repair stores, craft stores like Michaels that have premade frame kits in addition to custom framing, or having a friend with a table saw build you a custom frame from wood.
