We were told that we needed to use a water softening system for the well water coming into the house to prevent mineral buildup in the pipes. Our house came equipped with such a system and we have reduced the amount of softening agent but I feel that the water is still too soft and that nothing seems to rinse well. What are the implications of a a water softneing system when the house is also equiped with a septic system?
