I would be a bit careful about getting away from the house designer's ventilation scheme (if it is a everyday subdivision home, that is). I suppose adding a vent won't hurt, but I have read things which made me forget about such things, particularly attic fans. check out www.askthebuilder.com for more under ventilation.
