First let me say that I agree with bruce under some circumstances you may not have to remove the existing flooring but, if the existing floor is not bonded properly the new floor will be no better than the old . With that in mind alot of old floors will need to be removed . let me suggest the makita floor scraper with the vinyl scraper attachment . ( model # HK 1810 ) It's light and easy to handle , and you can say goodbye to the blisters .
