in old houses, the window in the bath was for ventilation of the steam from the tub-shower. if you replace the window with glass blocks, you will need to install a vent fan in the bathroom. some of the new ceiling mouint vent fans incorperate a light in the same assembly. the fan has to be exhausted to the outside. there are venting instructions with the fan kits.
