There is a tool !!!!!!!
It's an EDCO FS-8A floor stripping machine. Many rental outlets have it. It uses an 8 inch blade oscillating back and forth at about 6,000 times per minute. You have to buy the blades seperately from the rental fee, but I don't think that $40.00 for three hours rent and $8 to 12 per blade is too much after trying a hand scraper.
