ceiling tiles in 1940s house

Posted by Alicia on June 20th, 2004 12:04 PM

My house was built in 1940 and in the upstairs it has paper ceiling tiles. They are in good shape but they just don't look right to have in such an old house. Why do you think they are there? Should I remove them and how do I remove them? Downstairs the ceilings are plaster. Do you think there could be another plaster ceiling above the tiles?

Thanks,
Alicia
