Tim, I would do neither. I would us Tapcon screws(brand name), the generic are called 'cement screws'. you need to drill a small pilot hole in the material you are attaching do, the screws(or a knowledgeable person) will tell you the snall size carbide bit you need to use. It is best to drill in the masonrt joint. They work great. Been there, done that. HTH
