I have finally inherited this family heirloom and it needs refinishing. I think it has be laquered since it has turned orange in color. It has distinct rings on both the headboard and foot. Can you tell me the manufacuter and about how old it is? Also, since Brasso is out of the question, do you recommend lemon mixed with salt the answer? I do not want to dis-assemble it and start all over since re-assembly may be a problem.
