I have had my Neptune (front loading)washer for 4 years-- I absolutely LOVE IT, but... the mold and greasy black stuff in the front gasket is absolutely GROSS. Maytag says they have sent me a repair kit (which was supposedly installed by my local dealer when I purchased it), but my gasket is solid which allows all kinds of crud to remain in the gasket. Supposedly, the new ones have drain/air holes which cuts down on mold, but doesn't prevent it. Given the lack of care or service... I'll NEVER buy another Maytag product. I'm stuck now. OH! Maytag repairs says all washers have this crud, but we "can't see it?"?
