We purchased this machine 5 years ago for over $1000. We were told last week that we need a new outer tub, tubspinner and door boot and it will cost us almost $500. I contacted the Maytag Corp. Office and was given the run around. They told me they would check on my complaint and call me back. I have not heard from them since. With a family of 6 we could not be without a washer so purchased a new GE model today. I will never buy Maytag again and will make sure all of my friends and family are aware of my problems with Maytag. The repairman in my rural area indicated that he has worked on 12 of these washers and made costly repairs. This does not include the ones, myself included, who chose not to put the money into a machine that has been nothing but trouble.
