Cedar Shake Siding

We are putting an addition to our
lakeside cottage in central Kentucky.
We plan to use cedar shake siding for a
portion of the exterior.

Information is slim around here as to
construction methods and care.

I've been to the Cedar Shake & Shingle
site, but would like some more information.

Can some one point me to manufacurer's books,
how to books, or something with more step by step
information?

Like what is approved paper? Can one use a
pneumatic nailer with aluminum nails?

Also looking for suppliers. Furrows says they
can provide, but they are geared more a gazebo
roof projects. We need to cover about 100SF.
