Pro and Cons Posted by Doug Mancosh on June 24th, 2004 09:01 PM In reply to Grooved Fiberon by Pelagicflyer on April 12th, 2004 09:29 AM [Go to top of thread]
Fiberon will produce and sell about 50,000 decks this year. No product or material is magic, all have advantages and disadvantages. fiberon like all surfaces will require periodic cleaning and will absorb and retain heat to a greater extent then wood decking. That is the nature of the material compositions of all wood composite decking. But it will not warp, split, crack, splinter ect and it doesn't require paint stain or sealants. You have to weigh the advantages of all options, for the price and advantages, keep the Fiberon. I own a pressure treated lumber company also, guess what deck surface I have on my home, fiberon.
