There are actually 2 class action settlements which provide relief to homeowners in the US. One is referred to as Cox vs. Shell Oil and is the most popular because if you qualify, all of the piping is replaced free of charge. This settlement includes homes that have copper fittings, plastic fittings, or a mixture of both. You can find out more info regarding this settlement at www.polybutylene.com or www.pbpipe.com.

The other settlement is funded by Dupont and is known as the Spencer Class settlement. This settlement offers a 10% reimbursement of your repipe cost and 10% of past damages that relate to poly. You must have plastic insert fittings to become a candidate for this settlement. You can find out more info regarding this settlement at www.polybutylene.com or www.spencerclass.com.
