I have a Hunter Ceiling fans throughout my older home. The fans are only controlled by a pull switch.
I added a pull switch light to the ceiling fan in one room, and it works fine.
I am now attempting to add a light fixture to another fan and am having problems.
I attached the black Light wire to the black Fan wire, and white to white, but the fan no longer works, only the light does. Is it possible the celing light fixture (which is not a Hunter brand) is not compatible. Or am I doing something else wrong. There are a many many other wires insided the fan, and I have no idea what they are for.
