i think this is caused by stree,esppecially @ header areas like door ways.Im no pro mod but i can tell you from experince that if there is stress cracks @ headers its cause of butcher framers.Butcher framers are ones that cut liners too short!!Liners are studs that are inbetween your door jamb & King studs.Your king is attached to your header,then the liner is nailed to the king,UNDER the header witch is supporting the header!Sometimes some headers are designed to carry a load,Heavy loads.When liners are cut too short under the header there is constant settling!There isnt much to do however,there is a product that is very good for nonshrinking,plus CRACK resistent!Thats the brand saying that&me,it works wonderful,its called[M H READY PATCH],realy works great & @ headers,sorry for the long reply,I know how the mods dont like that.Good luck, by a custom painter&carpenter
