First step, turn of the circuit breaker or remove fuse for the existing light, verify that the light is disabled. You will need to run a cable from the existing light to the new location. connect the white wire to the white wire on the existing light fixture,connect the black wire to the black wire on the existing fixture. on the new fixture, connect the black wire to the brass screw, and the white wire to the white screw.
