On older faucets using faucet washers, if the screw loostens, the washer can chatter. If a valve is turned off with a good bit of pressure, the washer can become compressed, and as it warms up when the hot water starts flowing, it can expand back to it's original profile and slowly reduce the water flow. Likewise, in older faucets with worn valve stem threads, you can get chattering. Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
