Disposal backing up in other side of double sink

I was using the disposal today and noticed that it sounded funny and the water was backing up into the other side. I tried the plunger on the diposal side and the water in the other side would be moving and vice versa.

Would Drano or Liquid plumber be an answer or is it something major?
