is there a trick to applying grout?

Hi,

I am having a most difficult time with the sanded grout I am using. The grout sticks to the float or my hands. Most of it falls off the wall and ends up in the tub - arghhhhhh! It doesn't seem to matter if I use peanut butter consistency or a dryer mix.

Any suggestions???
