ready made counters have the laminate fastened with a hotmelt type adhesive so the repair, as doug noted, involves heating the area (with a clothes iron on a medium setting) carefully so as not to scorch the laminate surface and then placing something very flat on it with weights. A very flat cutting board with a full gallon size can of paint would probably be about right for the size of delamination you describe. Invest in a decent collection of trivets for your stove areas, as well. Luck, Kizmet
