we remodel an old house and have multiple roof lines. However we have an old section that was reroofed with the rest of the house that constantly has a build up of ice in the winter. THis area has approximately 15 inch of blown in installation and 3ft to a 12inch air gap between the insulation and the roof the ceiling below is a tonque and grove wood ceiling with no vapor barrier. No one so far can come up with a solution to this there is no plumbing or heating stacks in this area. One solution that was given to us was that maybe the outside wall has little or no installation and hot air is going up ion the wall we donot know for sure if this wall has any installtion in it. Another contractor said that the tongue and grove ceiling has seperated and heat is rizing up throught the insulation. As you cna see we are looking for asolution
