I bought a 70 year old house. The floors were finished around the edges; however, the centers were darker. It appears tha they had not had a protective finsih' consequently, that wood is much darker than the outer edges. Sanding did not take care of the problem. They are still two toned (if you will). How can I sand or grind these hardwood floors to an even finish?
