This is an extremely technical challenge. It would be very hard to simply give up on a 7500 sf house and the property. On the other hand, the sink-hole could collapse with catastrophic results; or it may be simply a slow failure. Either way, the clock is ticking and a slow structural failure has already started, and will become unsafe. Unfortunately, many insurance policies exclude coverage for subsidence.

A construction engineering team might be able to design an underpinning foundation that could support the house to bedrock. Read the following link, and get a professional contractor / engineering team on this as soon as possible.

Also, how old is the home? Could there be any negligence on the part of the original developer or builder? Was a soils and geology report completed prior to construction?
