That is comparing apples to lemons!! It is fine to say wash the deck just as you vaccume and mop your floors. That should mean a simple wash and rinse with soap product occasionally. But carpet manufactures never advertised "never do yearly maintanence again" - "carefree product" and then tell me "oh, by the way you will have to SCRUB it 2-3x a year, and/or SEAL it to stop black spotting"!! If I wanted to spend hours scrubbing and sealing my deck I would have spent a WHOLE lot less and put up cedar decking - which says up front - this wood must be cleaned/stained and seal regularly to maintain appearance and durability!! Personnaly, I called the BBB and consumer fraud hotline and a local attorney to contact Trex and attempt to get them to honor thier warrenty and replace our deck or reimburse ALL our cost todate! Hope YOU continue to enjoy "maintaining" your "maintanence free" deck!
GOOD LUCK to all ohters. MR
