As Dano and tomh mentioned any questions in reference to appliances, the make and model are helpful. Here is my tip on your dilemma. Install a lint catcher on the discharge hose of the washing machine. They are very inexpensive and will save you the trouble of calling a plumber or drain cleaner further down the road. Lint is a major headache to plumbing drainage. Just run about 2 loads and you will see the lint being collected. For the 2 bucks you will have to spend, it's well worth it !!!! Now you have discovered whats called preventive maintenance. Post back and please us know if the advice was helpful, Tom
