I just replaced STK392-110 on my 1998 Toshiba TP55G65. My unit showed the same problems, power up, relays click ON and then 1/2 seconds later it clicks OFF. Toshiba has a good troubleshooting guide in their service website. http://www.tacpservice.toshiba.com/TACP/training/module1/Mod1sg1.html
Simply increment the ...sg1,2,3,4..15 to view all 15 pages of this document. I recommend using a multi-channel storage oscilloscope to view the various shutdown waveforms. The peak hold meter suggested by the website doesn't really cut it. You could be fooled with the low voltages on meter reading that will trigger shutdown.
I managed to find a source of these convergence IC chips at a Vancouver B.C. Canada supplier: www.pacificsemi.com. They have 100pcs in stock. Cost is 5.70USD wholesale (cheap). Apparently this chip is commonly used in many projection TVs and is a frequent source of failure. I noted the operating temperature is quite high. Thanks for the previous postings that steered me to troubleshoot this problem.
