wood grain paint removal

My brother recently painted my guitar with that wood grain paint that dries hard, and actually looks like wood. Does anyone know how to remove this? He painted it directly over the hard polyurethane coating of the original guitar's finish.

I tried Goof Off and turpentine...no good.
