I also had a odor from my washer, but I got it out after three trys.
First I sprayed a bottle of Tilex at the under the top of the plastic tub.
Second and very important is to run hot water to the high water setting and then add about 5 galon more water so that the water level is within 1 inch of the top of the Plastic tub, (not the metal tub that has the holes in it).
Next add 2 cup of detergent & 2 cup of bleach. You want to fill the washer before adding the detergent & bleach.
Next run the washer in the normal wash cycle for about 3 or 4 minutes, watching that it does not suds up and run over. (DO NOT LEAVE THE WASHER WHILE IT IS RUNNING). If suds get too high stop the washer and let it set they will go down, then restart washer. Let the washer sit for 1 hour then watching the washer run it for 15 to 20 minutes, watch that the suds donot run over the top of the tub at the back side.
If this does not get the smell the first time try again.
I had to do this three times before I was able to get the smell out of mine...
The reason that the mold started in the first place is the my washer was run at low water setings I belive.
