We are looking at home for purchase. The kitchen cabinets appear to be oak, and appear to not have a finish. There is grease and grime on them, but in good shape. Can they be cleaned for a light stain and laquer finish, or should they be primed and painted? We would be doing this project ourself. This home is 15 years old and never finished, but lived in.
