first thing to do is turn off water supply to the faucets, location may be near the tub, near the water heater or at the water meter.
assuming 2 or 3 handled faucets this problem is caused by worn out bibb washers inside the stem. to replace the washers, pry out the H and C covers in the handles, use a phillips #2 screwdriver to remove the screws and remove the handles, next unscrew the nut surrounding the stem and then unscrew the stem. you will now see the washers on the end of the stem. go to your local hardware store or other source and buy new washers. some washers have a screw holding them and others are friction fit over a knob on the end of the stem. after installing new washers, reverse removal procdures to re-install.
If you have a single handle faucet, remove the handle and then remove the retainer to remove the insides. most single leaver faucets have spring loaded cup seals in the body of the faucet. actual construction will vary for different manufactures.
