Had you recently filled it with gas or possibly used old gas? That would be my first guess. Also, how recently have you performed maintenance on the mower, filters, oil etc?
Finally, check the deck (when it's not running) and make sure nothing is wrapped around the blades and that nothing is clumped up an/or clogging the blades from spinning.
You can always change the plugs too, it's not like they cost that much.
