I'm laying 4x4 tiles in a shower enclosure over backerboard. I've used thinset in the past and am considering using a mastic to possibly save time. Assuming the walls are flat, what are the pros and cons of a mastic. Also, is pre-mixed thinset really thinset or a glorified mastic. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
