Possibly, there are two ways to wire a wall switch one is to feed power to that location and then to the overhead light, the other is to feed power to the light and control it at the switch. So in the second case you will not have full time power at that wall switch. Only way to know is turn off power and go in and find out. One sheathed electrical cable will be the "no-go" case but 2 sheathed electrical cable will be ok (one will come from a power source and the other will go to the light). If you get the "no-go" you can always get power from the next closest wall outlet.
