I am considering purchasing an old "fixer upper". The interior and exterior walls have tested positive for lead paint. Paint is chipping everywhere and has been chipping for years. Paint chips are everywhere. Would it be best to have a contractor come in and remove the paint? Is it effective and/or necessary? Any idea of the cost? Thanks.
