JACKING UP A HOUSE? Posted by Bill Patton on July 17th, 2004 08:56 PM
We own a three story home built in 1932 located in Lake Arrowhead, California. The second level is our daily living area (kitchen, dining room, living room, etc.). We are planning a major remodel (including new wiring, plumbing, windows, etc.) and want to raise the second level ceiling height from its low 8' up 2' requiring demolishing the entire third level.
But, the thought occurred to us that jacking up the entire middle level and bringing in an expert crew for this part of the remodel may make more economic sense.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
