My fixer-upper has single panes with with metal storm windows installed, circa 1950s. Most are painted shut with paint covering the metal slide mechanisms. These windows haven't been opened in years and painting them is really a problem. Confounding that problem, the storm window screws head are stripped from the shoudy paint jobs, so taking the storm windows off to paint the sills and remove the paint splaters off the storm windows is what I want to accomplish without bending the frames. Any suggestions on my screw head and slider problems are welcomed and TIA.
