We're remodeling the basement and planning to install ceramic tiles for flooring. The floor currently has vinyl asbestos tiles which was tested recently to have a composite of 12%. Overall the tiles are in good condition except for the edges where the tile is breaking up. I was told I wouldn't need to remove the tile if they are in good condition. Should they be removed, if yes, any suggestions if this is a DIY project and how. If they don't need to be removed, any suggestions on what prep work needs to be done before we install the ceramic tiles (or is there a better flooring idea?) THANKS.
