Process of elimination... I swapped the lead of this zone with the lead of a another (working) zone on my controller. The suspect zone failed to come on, the other zone worked fine even after the lead was swapped. So my conclusion is that the controller was not at fault.

The only other thing it could be is the wire, i'll put a meter on this to see if I have continuity, but if not then the culprit is the valve.
