first thing to do is drain and flush the hydro-stat drive system, then refil with new fluid. if you still have sluggish performance, you will need to overhaul the pump or drive assembly. the fluid should be changed on a yearly basis for reliable operation. my son has commercial lawn service and he changes the fluid every fall and in mid season on his hydro-stat machines.
