removing lime and mortar from colonial brick

Hi We laid pavers over a cement patio and used mortar mix and now we can,t get the lime and mortar off the brick.We have a fish pond right in front of the patio and can,t use acid for it would kill the fish.We have used vinegar,a scratching stone and a wire brush for a disc grinder.Thank you for any suggestions Was this post helpful?
