I agree with Doug on this. I helped my son replace a slider with french doors. also at the same time moved the door opening 32 inches over and closed off the one side to keep a 6 foot opening. we had to support the ceiling while removing the header and moving it. total time with 2 people working was 2 days from start to finish, now counting painting. if it was to be done again, i would tell son to get others to help or hire it done :o).
