Central Heat/Air for older home in St Pete Florida

Posted by Kathleen1960 on July 29th, 2004 03:33 PM

We are having a problem keeping our 1920 bungalow cool in these hot summer months , even though our home has a brand new central/heat air system in our 1200 sq ft bungalow. The cool air is coming out of the wall vents and the house will cool better at night, but during the the day it will not get about 78 degrees in home. We just installed R-30 insulation in the attic, which seemed to show minor improvment in the cooling , but this was limited to the main area of the house. The master bedroom which has a raised ceiling is especially warmer than the rest of the house. The air-condiioning people have been out and have not found any problem in the central air system.
