Lightning Surges and protection of your Electronics

Currently here on the east coast we are getting hit hard with bad lightning and thunderstorms. I saw the lights flicker a few times and I am now going to unplug my PC from the wall outlet. I do have a surge protector, protecting my computer, but I just don't think it's enough. Opinions comments please. Tom
