I live in central Florida too and we have the storms every day. Where do you live, Plumber Tom?

My surge protector is guaranteed and also protects the phone line so I do not unplug it if there is a storm, but I do turn it off. My wife's computer is simply plugged into a power strip, and she unplugs it if there is a storm but it does not have any internet connection. When I used my old computer there was a storm and it blew the power supply and the A/C heat. Luckily the power supply was replaced free, but quickly I bought a real surge protector.
