Toilets clogs

I have a problem toilet, it's 13 years old, a 1GPF type, that clogs quiet often. Could there be an obstruction in the flush pipes, or possibly the 4" drain? I have never pulled this toilet, I could, but then what? If I don't see a problem in the toilet pipes, or nothing when I snake the drain, could there be obstuctuins in the 4" PVC drain pipe?
