That's funny (well, not really)...I just went through the same thing with my 3000 series. I junked mine too. Someone did tell me there was a lawsuit. Put "Maytag Neptune" into Google, and you should find it. There is a statute of limitations, though...I think I missed it, because they didn't reply to me.
